Magalir Urimai Thogai — May ₹1,000 transfer reaches 1.15 Cr women

The May tranche of the Magalir Urimai Thogai scheme — ₹1,000/month for eligible women heads-of-family — concluded on 15 May. 1.15 crore beneficiaries received their transfer; the Social Welfare Department flagged 4.2 lakh records with KYC mismatches (most commonly mobile-number/bank-account drift).

The verification window is open till 31 May at e-Sevai centres and through the village-level enumerator app. The department has confirmed that pending tranches will be back-credited once verification clears, with no application reset required.
