₹3.7 Cr in TNEA 2024 counselling fee refunds pending for 11 months

A parent-collective tracker aggregating TNEA 2024 refund requests indicates that ₹3.7 crore in counselling fee refunds remains unpaid eleven months after Round 2 closure. 7,412 candidates are affected; the majority belong to the Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Caste-Arunthathiyar quotas who opted out after Round 2 allotment.

DoTE's response, given to one parent volunteer who pursued the case, is "bank reconciliation pending". The DoTE's online grievance dashboard does not list refund-pending as a category, so the cases are invisible to it.

TN-Info has asked DoTE for the consolidated refund register under RTI; the response is awaited.
